Sheet metal processing technology-connection method

2021-09-27

Here we mainly introduce the connection methods of sheet metal in the processing process, mainly including rivet riveting, welding, drawing hole riveting, and TOX riveting.

1. Rivet riveting
This kind of rivet is often called a pull rivet. The riveting of two plates together through a pull rivet is called pull rivet. The common riveting shape is shown in the figure:

2. Welding
In the design of sheet metal welding structure, it is necessary to implement "symmetrical arrangement of welds and welds, and avoid convergence, aggregation, and overlap. The secondary welds and welds can be interrupted, and the main welds and welds should be connected."
Commonly used welding in sheet metal includes arc welding and resistance welding.

3. Hole riveting
One of the parts is a tapped hole, and the other part is a counterbore, which is made into a non-detachable connecting body through riveting.
Advantages: The pumping hole and its matching counterbore have a positioning function. The riveting strength is high, and the riveting efficiency through the mold is also relatively high.

4.TOX riveting
A simple male mold presses the connected part into the female mold. Under the action of further pressure, the material in the cavity "flows" outwards. The result is a round connection point without edges and corners and no burrs, and will not affect its corrosion resistance. Even the plates with plating or spray paint on the surface can also retain the original anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties, because the plating and The paint layer and the plate can also retain the original anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties, because the plating layer and the paint layer also deform and flow together. The material is squeezed to both sides, squeezed into the plate on the side of the die, thereby forming TOX connection dots.
